So what is art? Oscar Wilde said that “all art is useless”, and the american poet John Ciardi defined art as “what happens when painters stop looking at girls and persuade themselves that they have a better idea.” Theodor Adorno thought that “Every work of art is an uncommitted crime”, while the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche thought “art is the proper task of life.”

I don’t know which one of these definitions I agree with the most, and I certainly don’t know if these guys would be as enthusiastic about defining art after seeing my contribution to the genre.
